What will my wedding be like?

Nobody else in the whole world will have a wedding ceremony like yours. It's your day to tell everyone you love how much you want to commit to one special person, and with a humanist ceremony you get to do that in exactly the way you want to. My job (and I can't tell you just how much I love my job!) is to meet you, find out how you want your day to go, and then make it happen for you. On the day itself, I ensure that you and your guests, photographer, musicians and anyone else involved know exactly how things will run and that everything goes smoothly. I'm very experienced at calmly handling last minute glitches, too!

You can marry in a place that has personal significance for you. You can include (or not!) music you love, vows you have written, and contributions by other people if you wish. Don't worry, I'm here to help with all of those if you need a nudge in the right direction.

Many couples opt for a symbolic act such as exchanging rings, ring warming or handfasting. It’s all up to you, and if you need a hand deciding which to choose or how to make it even more personal to you, I'm full of ideas. After getting to know you, I will write a ceremony which tells your story in a way that feels right for the two of you. Your ceremony will embrace everyone there. It will usually include your thoughts on love and marriage, the story of how you met, and/or hopes for the future, but there will be nothing 'usual' about it, it will be unique to you.

You might laugh, you might cry, you could hear lots of 'oohs' and 'ahhhs', all with the people you care about as you declare your love and make your commitments to one another. One thing is absolutely certain. It will be an utterly unique and memorable experience.

What happens in a vow renewal ceremony?

A vow renewal ceremony, like a wedding, relects your story, personalities and experiences as you celebrate your relationship so far and your commitment to the future. You choose when, where and how you wish to mark this special occasion, and your bespoke ceremony will be written to include all the ways you wish to honour this unique point in your lives. Music? Poetry? Laughter? Quiet reflection? Whatever your image of your day, we make it happen together.
